Textiles tell us so much about us as people without having to say anything at all. Where we’re going, where we’ve been, how we’re feeling and how we fit into society.

As a costume specialist I love nothing more than digging deep into the meaning behind the textile choices for a character. Building the backstory with embroidery and embellishment in this way is a fascinating way to flesh out the characters history and motivations. Whether it be for film, tv or theatre; costume or props purposes I can help you bring your vision to life, or rather give it texture with embroidery.

Research and craftsmanship leads me to combine machine and hand embroidery techniques seamlessly. This allows the embroidery and fabrics to work together, enhancing the storytelling. Through these processes I have over ten years of industry experience in working with challenging fabrics such as leather, tulle, silk, velvet and organza. So however fantastical the idea, we can find a way to make it beautiful.
