Last month, we had the wonderful opportunity to go to see the lovely folks at Butterfly Cannon to chat to them about the craft of embroidery.

In advance of the presentation, I worked on a sample of their logo, leaving some areas unembroidered so that we could finish it all together during the presentation. It was fabulous to see how much the crew got stuck into the stitching with everyone having a good go and putting in at least a few stitches each. By the end of the session we had a piece that we had all worked on together and was complete to leave with them as a little reminder of the day.

The presentation itself was mainly focused on using the samples I had with me to demonstrate how textiles can be used as an exciting and unusual way to market a clients products in a high end way. The group which consisted of about 15 people was very engaged, getting stuck in with the stitching of the sample and exploring the textiles samples on the table.
At the end we had a little Q & A sessions where I answered some of the questions they had about the textiles industry in general and about previous jobs I have worked on. It was a really positive day and a great experience, from which I look forward to working with Butterfly Cannon again.
Thanks to Chris Joscelyne for all the lovely photos
